Marzia Cavallo

Postdoctoral Scholar

Marzia is a postdoctoral scholar at SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory and Stanford University in SUNCAT. She grew up in Alba, Italy and earned her B.S. (2017) and M.S. (2020) in Chemistry from the University of Torino. During her M.S., she worked on organic synthesis and the synthesis of metal complexes. She completed her Ph.D. in Chemistry at UNSW Sydney (2026) under the supervision of Richard Tilley, where she focused on nanoparticle synthesis, TEM characterization and electrocatalysis. At SLAC, her research centers on cryo-EM and catalyst characterization for electrocatalysis, to support the transition to more sustainable chemical processes. In her free time, she enjoys baking, reading and playing video games.
