SLAC Neutrino Group
UNDER CONSTRUCTION
The SLAC neutrino group is focused on neutrino experiments measuring accelerator-produced neutrinos, in particular the experiments based on the technology of liquid-argon time-projection chambers (LArTPCs).
Some focuses of the group include:
Machine-learning based reconstruction of LArTPC events. The "SPINE" reconstruction package is an end-to-end reconstruction chain that is now in use on the ICARUS experiment, SBND, and for the DUNE near detector, far detector and ProtoDUNE
DUNE Near Detector construction. SLAC is especially engaged the Muon Spectrometer (TMS) and the field cage for the ND LArTPC.
R&D aimed at low-energy physics in LArTPC detectors. This includes the development of the GAMPix scheme for charge readout, and studies of a possible experiment at the Oak Ridge SNS to measure low-energy neutrino-Argon cross sections
