Thomas Eichinger

Engineer
Staff Engineer

Thomas Eichinger is Staff Engineer at SLAC. He received his M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg and a certificate for Electrical Engineering from Ingolstadt University of Applied Sciences. After his studies, he began working as a development engineer in mechanical design and FEA simulation for marine applications. He then continued his career as a system engineer for hybrid marine propulsion and technical project lead and developer for engine control unit software in long-haul trucks. Since 2024, he is applying his versatile background in mechatronic engineering and software development at SSRL to tackle the numerous technical challenges associated with developing scientific setups, such as X-ray laminography for 3D imaging.
