Making greener batteries
Energy storage is a key part of the immediate and future energy landscape. How can X-rays help us probe inside batteries to make them hold more charge and last longer with cheaper, environmentally-friendly materials?

Making better X-ray tools
We are developing the next generation X-ray tools for bette characterization. We often focus on how to design experimental setup to collect dynamic systems far from their equilibrium state.

Recovering resources and cleaning water
We are using X-rays to help develop a circular nutrient economy for wastewater. Recovering nutrients as valuable products from wastewater will alleviate environmental issues such as eutrophication, algal bloom formation, and greenhouse gas emissions from chemical manufacturing.
