New version of CatMass is released!

We have released an updated, non-python-based version of our X-ray sample mass calculator, CatMass! Jorge has taken the bones and functionality from Adam’s original release and created an installable program with expanded capabilities.

The updated version now offers:

1. Save/Open sample calculations
2. Expanded energy ranges and sample geometries to calculate absorption cross sections
3. Plot sample absorption and identify competing edges in energy and k-space
4. Added functionality to determine absorption from non-sample absorbers such as cell wells and flight paths.

You can download the executable (windows only, sorry mac users!) from the Useful Software page.

Please reach out to Jorge if you find any bugs while using it. We plan on releasing a mac-compatible soon.

We will train users on how to use while on site, but please reach out with any questions about its operation when they arise.
