Aubrey Hepstall

SCGSR Fellow

Aubrey Hepstall is a 4th year PhD candidate from the Georgia Institute of Technology, advised by Dr. Carsten Sievers. Her research goals are to understand and quantify the fundamental reaction driving forces in mechanocatalysis with test systems including mechanochemical propane dehydrogenation over Pt catalysts. Aubrey is at SLAC as a DOE Scientific Graduate Student Research (SCGSR) award recipient, hosted by Dr. Simon Bare and working with the Co-ACCESS team at SLAC. During her internship, Aubrey is studying the nature of highly transient strain imparted by mechanical impacts and its effect on mechanochemical reactivity while also assisting the Co-ACCESS team in operating beamline 10-2.
