David Thompson

SCGSR Fellow

David Thompson is a chemistry Ph.D candidate attending the University of Arkansas, advised by Dr. Jingyi Chen. His current research is on synthesis and characterization of nickel phosphide based nanocatalysts for electrochemical oxidation reactions, such as Oxygen Evolution Reaction (OER). David was selected for a DOE office of Science Graduate Student Research (SCGSR) award, which involves coming to work with Dr. Simon Bare at SLAC. While at SLAC, David will be using Quick X-Ray absorbance spectroscopy (QXAS) coupled with phase sensitive detection to monitor surface changes of nickel phosphide nanoparticles during OER.
