Jonas Abitz Boysen

Visiting Graduate Student

Jonas is a Chemical Engineering Ph.D. candidate from the Technical University of Denmark working with thermal catalysis for CO2 reduction to methanol. He is investigating the Cu/ZnO/Al2O3 trying to elucidate the nature of the active site and the multifunctional synergism between Cu and ZnO. This is still highly debated topic in the academic world. At SLAC he will perform X-ray absorption spectroscopy and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy measurements in collaboration with Simon Bare and his research group trying to elucidate this synergy that potentially could enable us to increase the activity of this industrial important catalyst system.
