RISE
Mission Statement
The Retaining, Inspiring, Supporting, and Empowering Early Career Employees ERG (RISE) is a resource to all employees at SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory that helps foster an inclusive community for employees navigating job growth opportunities within the lab.
Our function at SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory:
RISE will perform two basic functions:
- In relation to the Director’s Office and SMT, RISE will serve as an advisory board or council to assist the lab in aligning its EDI agenda in accordance with priorities concerning its early career employee community.
- In relation to the lab community at large, RISE will listen and gather input from early career lab employees on issues and interests of the early career community and examine pathways of representing those issues and advocating for all early career employees.
By enabling a facilitated communication between the SMT and the lab employees, RISE will strive to raise lab-wide awareness and advocate for early career employees by promoting communication and mentorship between early career and middle- to late-career employees and providing venues for voices in the community to be heard, thereby enhancing a supportive and safe environment for early career employees. RISE will also conduct outreach and research to provide resources concerning issues and interests from the early career community, respond to community needs, and recommend positive changes to lab policies. Through these objectives, RISE aims to attract, retain, empower, and inspire early career employees to achieve their fullest potential across the spectrum of employment opportunities at SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory.
