Lunch provided for both in person workshops.

Part 1: Advancing Your Impact: Influence, Voice, and Visibility at SLAC
September 10th | 11:30am - 1pm | Redwood Conference Room B48 or Zoom

This dynamic workshop is designed to help professionals strengthen their communication skills and elevate their impact in the workplace. Participants will learn how to:
- Build influence and gain buy-in across teams and levels – regardless of title or role
- Develop a compelling professional voice and presence to position themselves as experts, both internally and in external arenas such as conferences
- Navigate unspoken power dynamics to ensure their ideas are heard and their work is recognized
- Adapt communication styles and deliverables to resonate with diverse audiences and stakeholders
- Create meaningful visibility that aligns with their unique career goals –whether pursuing a leadership path, a lateral move, or deepening expertise as an individual contributor

The session will feature interactive discussions, small-group exercises, individual practice, and Q&A. Attendees will leave with practical, immediately applicable tools to support their growth, confidence, and long-term career success.

Part 2: Advancing Your Impact: Strategic Influence and Ownership at SLAC
September 16th | 11:30am - 1pm | Sycamore Conference Room B40A or Zoom

This advanced workshop builds on the themes of influence, voice, and visibility by helping participants take more strategic ownership of their contributions, communicate with precision and confidence, and navigate complex dynamics with clarity. Participants will explore how to:

- Lead without authority by understanding how trust, alignment, and timing shape influence
- Frame their ideas to drive decisions and move work forward—even in uncertain or cross-functional settings
- Elevate visibility and build sponsors through moments of value, not self-promotion
- Assert their voice in meetings and collaborative spaces, especially when navigating scientific, technical, or hierarchical environments
- Recognize and shift limiting patterns that keep them from being seen as the strategic drivers they are

Through reflection exercises, targeted role plays, and real-world scenarios, participants will sharpen their leadership communication and walk away with a personalized plan to lead with more clarity, courage, and impact
