LGBTQ+ Disney Pride Concert Overview

On March 16th, the LGBTQ+ Employee Resource Group (ERG) at SLAC attended a concert by the San Francisco Gay Men's Chorus at the Davies Symphony Hall. This event was organized by Alex Bien, one of our colleagues from the Accelerator Department. Our group of 20 people had a wonderful time listening to classic songs from Disney movies, which were performed by the talented chorus.

We were particularly moved by the inspiring speeches given by diverse members of the chorus who shared their life experiences as LGBTQ+ individuals through the themes of Disney stories. It was touching to witness how they found strength and hope in these narratives, which made the music even more meaningful.

After the concert, we took a group photo to commemorate the occasion. It was a beautiful moment, and we were proud to show our support for the LGBTQ+ community and its allies.

Overall, it was a night filled with laughter, music, some tears, and good company. We are excited to attend more events like this in the future and to continue promoting inclusivity and acceptance in our lab.
